Job description

Braintree District Mencap provides social, educational, and leisure activities for adults with learning disabilities, along with support and guidance for themselves and their families.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is committed to ensuring the voices of those with learning disabilities are heard and, where appropriate, empowered.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and oversee all aspects of the charity's operations.
  2. Produce reports demonstrating progress, impact, and outcomes for regular meetings with charity trustees.
  3. Maintain the financial sustainability of the charity by identifying, applying for, and securing grants and funding.
  4. Promote the positive impact of the charity effectively.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and a small staff team.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, data protection, and equal opportunities.
  • Robust IT skills, accurate literacy and numeracy, and the ability to analyze information to resolve general queries.
  • A positive role model capable of inspiring others.
