Job summary

VanRath Search & Selection is recruiting for a General Maintenance Technician in Belfast to provide planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of sites. You will perform building fabric work, joinery, and basic repairs, ensuring high standards and minimal downtime. A full driving licence and multi-site experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent is required.
• Full driving licence is required.
• Experience in building fabric maintenance tasks and multi-site contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of sites.
• Respond promptly to Helpdesk service requests to meet response times.
• Carry out building fabric maintenance including joinery, walls and floors, doors and inspections.
• Assist with roofing, gutter and tiling, painting tasks.
• Support plumbing and drainage repairs as needed.
• Complete reports, paperwork, and asset tagging.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors and follow health and safety on-site.

What you'll do

• Provide planned and reactive maintenance services across a portfolio of sites, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Respond promptly to service requests from the Helpdesk, prioritising tasks to meet response times and minimising disruption.
• Carry out building fabric maintenance, including joinery, wall, and floor repairs, as well as internal and external door repairs and inspections.
• Assist with general building maintenance tasks such as roofing repairs, gutter and gully work, tiling, and minor painting.
• Support plumbing and drainage repairs, providing first-line response to maintain operational assets.
• Complete accurate reports, complete paperwork timely, and maintain asset registers and equipment tagging.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors for specialist repairs and ensure all health and safety procedures are followed on-site.
