Job summary

SeeMe Hired Ltd in Belfast is seeking a General Maintenance Assistant to support our care home team. You will perform day-to-day maintenance across the building, its services and grounds to ensure a safe, functional environment.

The role offers Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with full training provided. You will partake in essential safety checks and upkeep, reporting to the Home Manager as required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day maintenance of the building, its services and grounds to keep the home safe and functional.
• Carry out maintenance, fire and health and safety checks as advised by the Home Manager.
• Maintain a Maintenance Book recording defects and act on repairs/replacements daily.
• Maintain decoration of the home to keep it presentable.
• Report illnesses or accidents to the Home Manager or Person in Charge.

General Maintenance

The General Maintenance Assistant is a vital role, this role requires you to work as part of our support team to help ensure that the highest standard of maintenance is achieved throughout the home. You will be required to carry out your duties in an efficient and timely manner.

Being a team player and attention to detail is essential to this role. You will be provided with full training within the home.

The hours for this position is Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.

About the role

Responsibilities:

• To carry out day to day maintenance of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure that the home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order, i.e. plumbing and joinery
• Responsibility for all maintenance, fire and health and safety checks as advised by the Home Manager.
• Maintain a “Maintenance Book” in which defects are recorded by Staff Members. Use this book to effect repairs/replacements daily.
• Maintain decoration of the home as and when required ensuring home is kept to presentable standards
• Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another.

Experience:

• Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
