Paralegal - General Liability Team

Our General Liability team is seeking a Paralegal to join the team in Bristol. The team is part of the firm's Insurance Group and has a well-established client base, acting for a number of market leading liability insurers in the provision of their employers, public and products liability services to insured businesses. The role largely involves managing a caseload of personal injury claims arising out of these policies.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a vibrant and growing team. The work will be varied, interesting, and challenging.

The General Liability Insurance team spans London and Bristol and is linked with the Medical and Life Sciences team. There are currently 4 Partners, 3 Senior Associates, and 4 Associates.

The Role

  1. Managing a caseload of EL and PL claims, including personal injury claims.
  2. Delivering high-quality and timely output to clients, ensuring high levels of client service and adherence to working practices and service level agreements.
  3. Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement: sharing knowledge, assisting others, and taking responsibility for team development activities such as intranet updates, training, and process improvements.
  4. Capturing and collating required Management Information in accordance with client practices.
  5. Participating in the development and refinement of the team's services, support, processes, and procedures.
  6. Opportunities to attend client events and travel, primarily to London.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  1. Previous experience managing a caseload of EL and PL claims, including personal injury and fast track litigation.
  2. Litigation experience; insurance experience is desirable but not essential.
  3. Good knowledge of legal procedures.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  5. Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
  6. Good initiative and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of when to consult others.
  7. Ability to establish collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues to deliver excellent customer service.
  8. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  9. Commitment to a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative firm culture.
  10. High level of confidentiality and integrity.
  11. Ability to work efficiently and understand the importance of financial hygiene.
