General Legal Counsel

Location: London, Bristol or Southampton (Hybrid 2 to 3 days office-based)
Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Benefits

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Legal Counsel to join a forward-thinking, fintech business. This standalone position offers a unique chance to work closely with the executive team, shaping legal strategy and providing comprehensive legal support across the organization.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert legal advice and guidance on a range of issues including corporate governance, compliance, and risk management.
  2. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements.
  3. Manage legal disputes and liaise with external legal counsel when necessary.
  4. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  5. Support the development of policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
Qualifications
  1. Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE in a corporate or commercial environment.
  2. Strong understanding of fintech regulations and compliance.
  3. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
