General Ledger Accountant

Location:

Belfast

Contract Details:
  • Duration: 10 months
  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Pay Rate: £32.75 per hour PAYE
  • Inside IR35
Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled General Ledger Accountant to join our client's finance team in Belfast. This is a contract position initially lasting 10 months, with potential for review. The role reports to the US GL Manager and collaborates closely with the wider finance team. It offers a hybrid working model, with flexibility for remote work.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
  2. Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses, explaining fluctuations.
  3. Reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts, resolving reconciling items promptly, owning assigned GL areas.
  4. Assist in meeting tight month-end reporting deadlines, taking ownership of reporting packages.
  5. Perform additional duties as required by management and the GL team.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in an accountancy-related field preferred.
  2. Fully qualified (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CAI, CIMA) through a recognized financial institution.
  3. 2+ years post-qualification experience preferred.
  4. Proficiency with NetSuite and Oracle is advantageous but not essential.
  5. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
