Overview
About the role: Aptean is a fast growing yet well-established global software company. We are expanding our Sheffield-based Finance team to support Aptean’s continued growth in the UK and Europe. This role would suit a part-qualified with a proactive and driven attitude looking to continue their professional development in a fast-paced environment with a global outlook.
Duties will involve all aspects of financial and management accounts, and will include responsibility for a portfolio of entities and product-lines in the UK or European region:
- Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly processed and appropriately reflected in the GLs;
- Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are performed and variances are investigated and reported in a timely manner;
- Adherence to month end procedures and timescales in order to meet Group reporting commitments;
- Work collaboratively with the overseas Shared Service Centre, liaising with them regarding the delivery of their Accounting and AP responsibilities;
- Ensure compliance with internal financial reporting requirements;
- Support with group and local Statutory audits;
- Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making;
- Support with the onboarding of newly-acquired entities in the region on an ad hoc basis;
- Proactively identify opportunities for procedural improvements to improve efficiency and quality, and work to implement these to position the business for growth;
- Other ad hoc projects as required by management.
About you
- Part-qualified preferably, although different levels of experience will be considered;
- At least 3 years of previous management accounts experience, including posting of journals and responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations;
- An independent problem-solver, with excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse large and complex data sets in order to summarise in a simple, effective way.
- Must be competent in the us(e) of MS Excel;
- A disciplined self starter with a ‘can do’ attitude who is able to work within a matrix organization, with a high level of commitment and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines;
- Excellent interpersonal, teamworking and communication (written and oral) skills.
