Job summary

Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Foreman to join the HS2 earthworks programme in Buckinghamshire. You will lead site teams, ensuring safe, on-programme delivery and high standards of quality, while coordinating resources and working closely with engineering staff.

You will provide hands-on leadership on site, manage plant and resources, and help achieve project objectives within a major UK infrastructure project.

Responsibilities

• Lead site teams to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture.
• Coordinate daily activities with Supervisors, Engineers, and Project Management teams.
• Drive productivity across earthworks operations while maintaining quality standards.
• Plan and deliver works in line with project programmes and operational requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), hold points, and quality procedures.
• Manage site resources, materials, and plant requirements.
• Monitor plant inspections and ensure defects are reported and rectified promptly.

About the Role

Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Foreman to join the major infrastructure project of HS2 . This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK's largest civil engineering and earthworks schemes, leading the safe and efficient delivery of large-scale earthmoving operations.

As Foreman, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards. You will provide hands‑on leadership to site teams, coordinate plant and resources, and work closely with engineering and management staff to achieve project objectives.
