Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd. is seeking an experienced General Cover Teacher (QTS) to work in a mainstream secondary school in Oxford and Banbury. The role involves delivering pre-planned lessons across KS3/KS4, maintaining high behaviour standards, and engaging students with varied subjects.

You will join a supportive team with 24/7 consultant support, CPD opportunities, and market-leading pay rates. This is a long-term contract with flexible day-to-day work available, onsite in Banbury (OX16).

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

Are you an adaptable and experienced teacher who can confidently step into different classrooms and deliver pre-planned lessons?

The school is looking for an experienced General Cover Teacher on a long-term basis, with flexible day-to-day work also available. The successful General Cover Teacher will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of secondary subjects, managing classroom behaviour effectively and ensuring students remain focused and engaged with their learning across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4.

The successful General Cover Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
• Previous teaching experience within a UK secondary school setting
• Confidence teaching and delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary school subjects
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively
• Strong IT skills, including confidence using interactive whiteboards, school systems and digital learning resources
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a flexible, reliable and proactive approach
