About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will deliver pre-planned lessons and manage classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining consistency, promoting a positive learning environment, and ensuring that pupils remain focused and motivated throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and structured lessons across a range of subjects and age groups using pre-set plans.
  • Uphold a positive classroom environment conducive to learning, behaviour, and mutual respect.
  • Adapt your approach to meet the needs of diverse learners and maintain high expectations.
  • Liaise effectively with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of learning.
  • Record and report on student progress, attendance, and behaviour as required.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos, safeguarding policies, and professional standards at all times.

Requirements of the General Cover Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Ability to remain calm, organised, and adaptable in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A child-centred approach with a strong commitment to student welfare and progress.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).

What We Offer:

  • Enjoy a well-structured pay range of £150 to £220 per day, reflecting your experience and contributions
  • Access to a dedicated consultant offering personalised guidance and support.
  • A recruitment approach built on transparency, integrity, and educator-first values.

If you're ready to bring energy, adaptability, and professional excellence to a variety of classrooms, we want to hear from you.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
