Job summary

Clarence Recruitment is seeking a General Cover Supervisor to work part-time across Leicester's secondary schools. You will supervise classes in the absence of teachers, delivering pre-prepared materials and supporting students to stay engaged with learning.

This flexible, term-time opportunity offers competitive daily pay (£110-£140) and a supportive consultant, with DBS checks required and eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with young people in education, coaching, mentoring or training.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom presence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Confident to lead classes independently.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise secondary school classes across subjects.

Whether you have previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Sports Coach, Tutor, Instructor, or Graduate looking to gain classroom experience, we would love to hear from you.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their work.

The Role

• Supervise secondary school classes across a range of subjects.
• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials provided by teaching staff.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and in line with school policies.
• Support students in completing set work and achieving lesson objectives.
• Promote a positive and productive learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Provide feedback to teaching teams regarding pupil engagement and progress.
• Adapt confidently to different classrooms and year groups.
