They are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Counsel to join their team based in London. This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to collaborate with some of the UK's most renowned lawyers, gain litigation experience across a broad range of disciplines, and work with major law firms and leading counsel to devise legal strategy.

What you'll do:

As the General Counsel, you will be involved in a wide range of legal activities, including:

  • Bringing private prosecutions
  • Challenging the Crown Prosecution Service when it fails to prosecute hate crimes
  • Subjecting inadequate decisions by public bodies to judicial review
  • Submitting regulatory complaints and advising regulatory bodies
  • Bringing and defending defamation cases
  • Working with pro-bono legal experts and external counsel
  • Drafting legal documents such as correspondence, internal policies, particulars of claim, and witness statements
  • Supervising compliance with charity and data protection laws
  • Assisting with employment and contract questions

What you bring:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least four years' post-qualification experience as a solicitor or barrister
  • Experience in fields such as crime (communications or public order), regulatory law (professional conduct or charity law), administrative law (judicial review), defamation, or equality and human rights
  • Experience working with senior legal teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and respond quickly under pressure
  • Meticulous organizational skills
