A leading global industrial organization seeks a General Counsel to manage legal operations across Europe, focusing on commercial agreements, compliance, and litigation. The role requires a qualified solicitor with extensive PQE and offers significant career development opportunities within a successful business.

To support our global operations, we are looking for an ambitious and committed General Counsel for a predominately commercial role but you will have oversight of litigation claims, competition law and other legal issues affecting our European operation
• Structure, negotiate and draft strategic commercial agreements including customer, supplier and distributor contracts
• Provide clear direction and strategic know-how to our European leadership team on commercial matters
• Manage disputes and litigation to achieve a practical and cost-effective result.
• Advise on legal risk and ethical compliance in Europe including anti-corruption laws, EUDR and Code of Conduct
• Oversee Mergers and Acquisitions
• Monitor legal changes within the industry and implement any necessary changes, or challenge any prospective changes that may impact the organisation's operations.
• Providing support to internal and external audit
• Oversee the hiring of internal legal staff. Leading the team by example.
• You will be a qualified solicitor with at least 8 years PQE, some of which will be have been in a General Counsel or Deputy GC role
• You will have excelled academically when achieving your law qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in European corporate and commercial law
• 1st class English is essential, additional language skills are also desirable
• Ideally, you will be experienced in the manufacturing sector
• Operating from a local manufacturing site you will need to be prepared for significant travel
