Job summary
Sodexo in Fort Augustus is seeking a General Assistant to support housekeeping, cleaning and catering across the Highland village. The role offers Full-Time, Part-Time, and Casual shifts with options to suit family life and local commitments.
We provide training, a welcoming team and reliable hours in a scenic Highlands setting near Loch Ness, with duties spanning cleaning, dining support and resident service.
Qualifications
- Experience in cleaning, housekeeping, hospitality, catering or customer service is desirable.
- Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
- Full training can be provided.
- Positive, reliable and hardworking attitude.
Responsibilities
- Delivering high standards of cleaning and housekeeping.
- Maintaining accommodation, communal areas, kitchens and dining facilities.
- Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and shared spaces.
- Supporting laundry operations.
- Assisting with food preparation and meal service when required.
- Maintaining kitchen, dishwash and dining areas to excellent hygiene standards.
- Replenishing stock and supplies.
- Following COSHH, Health & Safety and hygiene procedures.
- Reporting maintenance issues and resident feedback.
- Supporting deep cleaning programmes and routine schedules.
- Creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for residents.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent standards.

As a General Assistant, you'll help create a safe, clean and welcoming environment where residents can relax, recharge and feel at home.
This is a varied and rewarding position supporting housekeeping, cleaning and catering operations across the village.
You’ll play an important role in maintaining high standards throughout accommodation, communal areas and dining facilities while delivering excellent customer service to residents and visitors.
No two days are the same, making it an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and being part of a supportive team.
