General Assistant

Location: NHS Colchester, Accommodation Office, FL1 Gascoigne Hse, Charter Way, Colchester, CO4 5JL

Salary: £12.21 per hour

Hours: 30 hours per week

Are you experienced in housekeeping or cleaning various accommodation types? If so, we have the role for you. We are recruiting a General Assistant, also known as a Cleaner, to join our onsite accommodation team at NHS Colchester.

Your daily duties will include cleaning communal areas and vacant properties, weekly cleaning of occupied properties, and maintaining cleanliness in kitchens, lounges, and stairs. You will be part of a team of 7 and will also provide housekeeping and bed-making services within on-call, patient, and relative accommodations.

We seek someone with cleaning or housekeeping experience who can use their initiative to deliver high-quality cleaning services.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Providing high-quality cleaning services for bedrooms, kitchens, pathways, and communal areas.
  2. Identifying and reporting hazards and faults to maintain a safe environment.
  3. Organizing on-site stores and checking equipment, replacing items as necessary.
  4. Performing other general tasks as assigned by management.
Skills and Experience:
  1. Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping.
  2. Practical experience operating cleaning machinery.
  3. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
  4. Ability to understand and follow simple verbal and written instructions.
  5. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
