Job summary

Sodexo Group at Thomas Johnson School in Bedford is seeking a General Assistant to support daily food service operations during term time. You’ll help prepare and serve meals, keep kitchens and dining areas clean, and ensure high hygiene standards in a busy school environment.

The role offers part-time hours (10 per week, 39 weeks/year) at £12.71 per hour, with training provided and opportunities to develop in a friendly, supportive team setting.

About the Role

As a General Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of a busy food service operation. From preparing and serving food to keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and organised, you’ll help ensure everything runs smoothly.

You’ll work as part of a supportive team delivering great service while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Additional Information

Term Time Only – Equated Pay
This role works 39 weeks per year. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
