Job description

General Adults Consultant Psychiatrist Part Time

This is a part-time Consultant Psychiatrist role at Rosebank House Hospital, an established Open mental health Rehab service in Reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring best practice care is delivered and will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and NHS clinicians.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will lead a team and strive for better care, a better you, and a better service. You will be the clinical expert from a medical perspective, responsible for assessing, treating, and discharging patients safely, managing medication, and ensuring quality assurance and compliance with NICE guidance. You will work 15 hours per week and collaborate with NHS clinicians and commissioners.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that people admitted are assessed, treated, and discharged safely
  • Medication management
  • Quality assurance, complaints, and co-production
  • Delivery of NICE guidance
  • Lead and manage the CPA and ICR process to ensure full compliance with quality standards
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full GMC registration with licence to practice
  • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Section 12(2) approval, Approved Clinician status
  • Clinical training and experience required for gaining UK CCT
  • Widespread and detailed experience of assessment and management of patients in psychiatry
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
