GenAI Engineers.
Do you have an extensive background within Software/Service engineering with a knowledge and passion for GenAI and are looking to take that next step? Aviva is creating a completely new CIO Gen AI Platform team, responsible for delivering a state-of-the-art Gen AI platform that provides a common framework to architect, build, test, deploy, and run Gen AI capabilities and services that can be easily leveraged for use within a variety of business and technology use cases.

A bit about the job:

The role is one of several other GenAI roles that Aviva is creating for a new team! As part of the role, under the guidance of our GenAI Platform Architect & Services Lead, you will build reusable, scalable infrastructure and GenAI services/tools required to build a world-class platform providing GenAI services for consumption by our business teams. This will include building all aspects of a productionised platform, such as monitoring/observability, aligning to security standards, and ensuring adherence to a DevSecOps best practice framework. This role also involves overseeing continuous integration and delivery pipelines automation to create blueprints for use across software asset creation.

Aviva operates a “smart working” policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office. This role is based in Bristol or London.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • Strong background within Software Engineering and DevSecOps, having implemented microservice architectures on large-scale distributed systems through APIs.
  • GenAI system build and delivery experience (i.e., LLM and RAG integration, GenAI services/orchestration, Prompt Engineering, Security, LLMOps).
  • AWS (EKS)/Azure infra (Terraform, CloudFormation), API/Integration systems delivery (Spring, OAS3.0), strong Python/Java/Node JS programming, DevSecOps principles and practices, Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Solid understanding/implementation of security, monitoring/observability, and systems assurance best practices.
  • Able to work adaptively with attention to detail, experienced in shaping technical solutions to architectural requirements with good communication skills, and able to understand and present complex ideas.
What you’ll get for this role:

Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow – is a promise we make to our colleagues too. And one of the ways we live up to that promise is by investing in you. We have so much to offer when it comes to being an Aviva colleague.

  • Competitive salary (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
  • Bonus opportunity 10% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell up to 5 days
  • Make your money go further - Up to 40% discount on Aviva products and other retailer discounts
  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme
  • Supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave
  • Flexible benefits including sustainability options such as cycle to work
  • Opportunity to make a difference through our Aviva Communities and use 3 paid volunteering days
  • Focus on wellbeing with support and tools available
