Job description

It's an exciting time to join AXA, with significant investment across our UK & Ireland businesses to deliver smarter digital services and AI-powered operational excellence. We are seeking two GenAI Architects—experienced platform or solution architects with strong foundations in enterprise platforms and data, focusing on designing and enabling AI-powered, GenAI-enhanced, and agentic systems.

Reporting to the Head of Data Architecture, you will shape how AXA adopts and scales intelligent automation, language models, and agentic AI capabilities across customer-facing products and internal operations. Your responsibilities include defining architecture patterns, guiding delivery teams, and collaborating with engineering, product, and data colleagues to develop intelligent assistants, copilots, and workflow-optimizing AI systems.

We support flexible working arrangements, requiring at least two days per week (40%) away from home, increasing to three days (60%) by the end of 2025. This includes visiting offices, clients, or industry events, with options for flexible schedules discussed with Talent Acquisition.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Defining and evolving the enterprise GenAI and broader AI architecture roadmap aligned with AXA's digital strategy.
  2. Leading the design of enterprise solutions integrating LLMs, GenAI, and agentic automation into workflows.
  3. Connecting structured and unstructured data sources and platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Salesforce, Guidewire, ServiceNow, Workday into AI pipelines.
  4. Providing technical leadership for pilot and solution delivery teams, building reference implementations, and scaling successful patterns.
  5. Partnering with platform and engineering teams to enable LLMOps and AgenticOps capabilities, including prompt lifecycle management, model observability, caching, evaluation, and governance.
  6. Contributing to the development of an AI-ready architecture practice within AXA through knowledge sharing and reference implementations.
  7. Collaborating with business teams to identify and shape AI automation use cases such as summarization, triage, classification, and advisory systems.
  8. Supporting integration with messaging systems, event-driven architectures, and APIs as part of AI solutions.

We value and appreciate our employees' efforts in protecting what matters most to our customers. In return, we offer comprehensive benefits aimed at supporting professional and personal growth, including competitive salaries, bonuses, pension schemes, life assurance, private health cover, generous leave, wellbeing resources, and employee discounts.

AXA UK is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity employment. We actively encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds and support those facing workplace barriers due to disabilities or health conditions through our Disability Confident initiatives.

As a regulated financial services provider, all successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks in accordance with FCA and PRA standards. We also provide interview preparation support and feedback throughout the process.
