About the Role

We are looking to appoint a Gearbox Test Technician to join our busy ‘End of Line’ team. This is an integral role to ensuring every Gearbox designed, manufactured and built is tested thoroughly before dispatch to our customers. We pride ourselves on safety, quality and reliability here at Xtrac and this role will help ensure we’re always able to deliver with our products.

Day to Day

Reporting to the EoL Team Leader, the role will undertake end of line testing, including complete transmissions and sub-assemblies as well as maintain and develop the EoL processes and equipment.

Responsibilities will include:

Undertaking gearbox build test quality assuranceAssembling and maintaining new and existing test rigs and equipmentMaintain and develop the EoL working environmentEnsuring processes are followedProviding feedback to design engineers

About You

We are looking for someone that is process driven with an eye for detail and the ability to thrive in a pressurised environment. Good time management and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have the following:

Minimum of a BTEC Level 3 in engineering or mechanics, or demonstrable experience, in a mechanical related disciplineGood understanding of mechanical and electrical principles in automotive and motorsport vehicle systems.The ability to interpret and follow component part, assembly drawings and written documents.Good understanding of test working practices.Working experience in an engineering or automotive environment.Excellent IT skills including Outlook, Word and Excel.A structured approach to problem solving.
