Job Description

Gear Cutting / Grinder Operative

The Role

Primary function is to set and operate both a cylindrical and surface grinder in what is a relatively small section within our manufacturing facility. There is also the requirement to support the gear cutting section, hobbing and shaping various gear forms.

Activities

  • Liaise with the Manufacturing Manager / Supervisor to determine work order / priorities.
  • To set and operate the machines in line with the requirements on the engineering drawing and to the specific requirements of the inspection schedule.
  • To manufacture components to the highest quality standards and to meet the demand on the works instruction.
  • To ensure all relevant paperwork is accurately completed and in accordance with the business process.

The Person

  • Experience working within similar environments.
  • Production and quality focussed.
  • Willingness to learn new skills (gear cutting).
  • Flexible approach.
