Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic GCSE Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition in Liverpool. Sessions may take place in students' homes, schools, or other agreed venues, with hours between 5 and 15 per week and a September 2026 start.

You should hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent) or have significant tutoring experience to support GCSE English, Maths and/or Science.

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic and experienced GCSE Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition to students across Liverpool.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who may need additional help outside of the classroom, whether they're preparing for exams, catching up on missed learning or aiming to boost their grades. As a GCSE Tutor, you'll deliver tailored sessions that meet each student's individual needs, helping them build knowledge, confidence and the skills needed to succeed.

Tuition may take place in students' homes, schools, community settings or other agreed venues, depending on individual requirements.

What We're Looking For

The successful GCSE Tutor will have:

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent) or significant tutoring experience
• Strong subject knowledge in GCSE English, Maths and/or Science
• Experience delivering effective 1:1 tuition or small-group interventions
• The ability to plan engaging lessons that are tailored to individual learning needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive, patient and motivating approach to teaching

To Be Eligible, You Must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional references relating to work with children or young people
