Job description

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours

Education and Training

£20 - £30 Per hour

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality English and Maths tuition to GCSE level students in an outreach setting (their homes or local libraries)
  • Develop individualised learning plans to cater to the specific needs of students
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to enhance learning outcomes
  • Engage and motivate students to achieve academic success
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure a supportive learning environment
Qualifications
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Specialism in English and Maths at GCSE level
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching English and Maths at GCSE level
  • Strong knowledge of the GCSE curriculum for English and Maths
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
  • Effective classroom management skills
  • Passion for education and helping students reach their full potential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working with students with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or similar
Working Conditions
  • Part-Time hours, with flexibility required based on student needs
  • Work in an outreach setting (learners' homes, local libraries or schools), travelling to different locations
  • Collaborative work with school staff, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Adherence to safeguarding and child protection policies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
