Job description

MathsTutors.Online has created an innovative and highly successful tuition method for GCSE Maths students. Whilst helping students far surpass national results for half the cost of average tuition, we've created a fun, engaging and results-driven learning experience. To continue serving our students at an excellent standard, we're looking for passionate and skilled tutors to deliver our online maths tuition programme.

We're an excited, passionate and driven team who love travel, keeping fit, and learning new skills. We're looking for tutors that find building rapport second nature (perhaps you're often described as charismatic!) and who genuinely strive to deliver excellence (and don't just say that to get the job!), as well as having the relevant experience described below. If this sounds like a good culture fit for you, please keep reading.

This is a role for someone who does not like slow-paced environments - this is an opportunity for someone who wants to build a strong career whereby their hard work is directly having a positive impact on the lives of others. You need to be enthusiastic about teaching and excited to go the extra mile to ensure that students get the absolute best experience possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering our GCSE Maths programme via video call (a mixture of small group and 1:1 classes) from pre-prepared lesson plans
  • Communicating with parents to discuss student progress (via email, phone and video call)
  • Organising and delivering additional 1:1 catch up sessions with struggling students
  • Using free periods to cover other tutors sessions when absence occurs
  • Marking student tests and providing feedback on work
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure our programme continues to be the best on the market

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • STEM degree
  • At least 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience (with students in the UK) and solid understanding of the UK education system
  • Valid DBS certificate
  • Strong, verifiable track record of above average student results
  • Concise, coherent and approachable tuition style
  • Laptop and a touchscreen tablet with pen
  • Strong wifi connection
  • Positive, enthusiastic and charismatic personality
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment with an openness to change
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Has a great sense of urgency
  • Proactive not reactive
