Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced GCSE Maths Tutor with Severe SEN Focus in Staffordshire. The role involves delivering tailored one-to-one GCSE Maths tuition aligned with UK curriculum, supporting students with severe SEN in 1:1 settings, and adapting methods to individual needs.

Requirements include minimum 1 year of GCSE Maths tutoring in the UK, experience with Severe SEN, ability to differentiate instruction, right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS; desirable PGCE/QTS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience tutoring GCSE Maths within the UK curriculum.
• Proven experience working with Severe SEN in 1:1 or small-group settings.
• Strong differentiation strategies for complex learning needs.
• Right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored one-to-one GCSE Maths tuition aligned with the UK curriculum.
• Adapt teaching pace and resources to meet individual SEN needs.
• Support learners with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other complex needs.
• Build positive relationships to create a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Develop student confidence, understanding and exam readiness where appropriate.
• Monitor and report on student progress to parents, carers and professionals.
