Job summary

Remedy Tutors in Woking, Surrey, is seeking an experienced GCSE German Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to a Year 10 student with significant visual impairment. The tutor will adapt materials and deliver accessible, engaging lessons with a key adult present.

The role is part-time, minimum 3 hours per week, ongoing, with support from a dedicated consultant and access to specialist equipment. A QTS/PGCE or equivalent and GCSE German experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the GCSE German curriculum.
• Experience teaching German at GCSE level.
• Experience working with SEN, including students with visual impairments.
• Teaching qualification such as QTS or PGCE.
• Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Patient, encouraging and flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and structured GCSE German tuition on a 1:1 basis.
• Plan lessons around the student's individual learning needs and GCSE requirements.
• Adapt teaching resources to ensure all content is accessible.
• Provide visual information, demonstrations and board work through accessible alternatives (Braille, audio, tactile).
• Work collaboratively with the student's key adult to prepare and adapt resources.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
• Build a positive, supportive relationship with the student and encourage confidence in German.

About the Role

Remedy Tutors are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic GCSE German Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to a Year 10 student in Woking.

The student is keen to study German as part of their MFL GCSE, and we are looking for a tutor who can provide engaging, personalised tuition and support them to make strong academic progress.

The student has significant visual impairment, so the successful tutor will need to be confident adapting teaching materials and resources to ensure lessons are fully accessible.

A 1:1 key adult will be present during sessions and can support with preparing accessible materials prior to lessons. The student will also have access to a laptop with specialist equipment.

Key Responsibilities
