Job summary

Remedy Tutors in Woking is seeking an experienced GCSE German tutor to provide 1:1 tuition for a Year 10 student with significant visual impairment. Flexible, part-time hours with ongoing consultancy support. Sessions are to be adapted for accessibility, including tactile, Braille or audio formats where required.

The tutor will work with a 1:1 key adult, prep accessible materials, and monitor progress to help the student achieve GCSE goals.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of the GCSE German curriculum.
Experience teaching German at GCSE level.
Experience working with SEN, including visual impairments.
QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Patient, encouraging and flexible approach.

Responsibilities

Deliver GCSE German tuition on a 1:1 basis.
Plan lessons around the student’s needs and GCSE requirements.
Adapt teaching resources for accessibility.
Provide visual information, demonstrations and board work in accessible formats.
Work with the student’s key adult to prepare resources.
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
Build a supportive relationship and encourage confidence in German.
