Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring GCSE English Language or Literature with secondary-aged pupils.
• Sound knowledge of the GCSE English curriculum and exam requirements.
• Experience delivering effective one-to-one or small-group tuition.
• The ability to adapt teaching to address learning gaps and support progress.
• The right to work in the UK and willingness to complete safeguarding checks.
• An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver focused GCSE English intervention to individuals and small groups.
• Identify misconceptions and plan sessions around pupils learning needs.
• Develop reading, writing, analysis and extended-response skills.
• Teach examination technique and explain assessment objectives.
• Monitor progress and adapt tuition in response to pupils work.
• Collaborate with the English department to complement classroom teaching.
