Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in the West Midlands is seeking a GCSE English Teacher to plan and deliver engaging English lessons for learners across a range of abilities, helping them build confidence in reading, writing, and communication for English qualifications.

You will assess progress, differentiate teaching, and prepare students for English assessments while maintaining an inclusive learning environment and collaborating with colleagues and support staff.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or DET.
• Experience teaching English.
• Strong English subject knowledge.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management.
• Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one.

You'll join an education provider as a GCSE English Teacher, planning and delivering GCSE English lessons to learners working across a range of abilities. You'll help learners build their confidence in reading, writing and communication, and prepare them to achieve the English qualification they need to progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging GCSE English lessons.
• Adapting your teaching to meet individual learner needs.
• Assessing, monitoring and tracking learner progress.
• Preparing learners for their English assessments and examinations.
• Maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff.

What We're Looking For

Desirable (but not essential):
