Job summary

Teem Recruitment is seeking a GCSE English Lecturer to join a well-established educational institution in Ipswich. The role is a full-time temporary position starting ASAP for an initial 10 weeks, teaching GCSE English and Functional Skills English to a range of learners.

The ideal candidate will have recent secondary school/college experience, a PGCE or CertEd, and an Enhanced DBS. The ability to motivate learners, manage classes, and contribute to curriculum planning is essential.

Qualifications

• Recent experience teaching GCSE English in a secondary school or college setting.
• Experience delivering GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English.
• A current Enhanced DBS certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach the full range of GCSE and Functional Skills English courses.
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons to ensure progress and engagement.
• Monitor student achievement and provide effective feedback and support.
• Stay up to date with curriculum developments and best teaching practices.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, pupils and parents.
• Manage classroom learning effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental development and assessment processes.
