Job summary

SoCode Limited seeks a Test Engineer with cloud and platform testing expertise for an 18-month, outside IR35 contract in London. The role focuses on testing cloud-hosted platforms, validating deployments, and reinforcing CI/CD quality practices within secure, regulated environments.

You will work with platform engineers and security teams, applying DevSecOps principles, APIs testing and Terraform/Kubernetes skills to ensure resilient, compliant solutions for deployment.

Qualifications

• Experience testing cloud-hosted or cloud-native platforms.
• Willingness to obtain UK security clearance (SC) before starting.
• Experience in secure, regulated or government environments.
• Knowledge of API/service testing is desirable.
• Familiarity with Terraform and Kubernetes platform testing.

Requirements:

• Experience as a Test Engineer, Cloud Test Engineer, Platform Test Engineer or in a similar role
• Experience testing cloud-hosted or cloud-native platforms and services
• Experience in secure, regulated or government environments
• Understanding of Agile, DevOps and DevSecOps
• Experience with infrastructure, integration and platform testing
• Experience with cloud platforms, ideally GCP
• Understanding of Kubernetes, containers and Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automated testing
• Experience across functional, integration, regression and non-functional testing
• Familiarity with API/service testing
• Ability to analyse defects, risks and quality issues
• Willingness to hold UK Security Clearance (SC) or obtain it before starting
• Willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV)
• Desirable: Google Distributed Cloud or private/air-gapped cloud experience
• Desirable: Government, defence or highly regulated sector experience
• Desirable: Python or other scripting/automation experience
• Desirable: Kubernetes platform testing experience
• Desirable: Performance, resilience or security testing experience
• Desirable: Google Cloud or testing certifications
• Desirable: Existing UK Government Security Clearance (SC or above)

We are offering an outside IR35 contract opportunity for a GCP Test Engineer on a temporary fixed-term basis for 18 months. The role is based in London with hybrid/remote working available. You will support testing and assurance across secure, cloud-based platforms and services, working closely with platform engineers, architects, DevSecOps and security teams to help ensure our solutions are secure, resilient, compliant and ready for deployment in highly regulated environments.
