Contract Duration: 6 Months

Are you a GCP Infrastructure Architect with deep expertise in HPC and GKE?

Join a high-impact team driving cloud transformation for enterprise and public sector clients in the UK. You’ll lead the design and deployment of scalable and secure infrastructure, focusing on containerized applications and high-performance computing workloads.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and implement GCP infrastructure for compute-intensive and enterprise-grade environments.
• Design and optimize HPC workloads using services like Compute Engine, Preemptible VMs, TPUs/GPUs, Filestore, and Parallel File Systems.
• Deploy and manage GKE clusters (standard and autopilot) ensuring performance, availability, and security.
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, and CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitLab, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
• Implement Istio, ingress controllers, network policies, and GCP IAM to secure microservice communications.
• Monitor and optimize systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and Cloud Operations Suite.
• Collaborate with platform, DevOps, and security teams in a multi-tenant Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Troubleshoot container performance, networking, and scaling issues.
• Provide architectural documentation and technical enablement to internal and customer teams.

What You Bring:

• 10+ years in cloud infrastructure design or DevOps roles.
• Proven expertise in Google Cloud infrastructure, GKE, and HPC architecture.
• Strong background in batch scheduling, job queuing (Slurm), and distributed storage systems.
• Proficient in Kubernetes internals, pod autoscaling, node management.
• Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager).
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Helm, Istio, and container security tools like Trivy or Aqua.
• Fluent in English, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Certification: Google Professional Cloud Architect (mandatory).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with GPU/TPU workloads, Slurm, Intel MPI/OpenMPI.
• Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud setups using Anthos or GCVE.
• Familiarity with GitOps (ArgoCD, Flux), workload identity, and K8s RBAC.
• Experience in life sciences, financial services, or manufacturing sectors with HPC needs.
