Job summary

iO Associates is seeking a Senior GCP Cloud Engineer with SC clearance to own a greenfield cloud platform in a highly regulated environment. You will design, build and operate secure GCP infrastructure, manage Kubernetes (GKE) clusters, and implement IaC with Terraform while automating CI/CD pipelines.

You will work across security-conscious deployments, observability, and resilience, contributing to a scalable platform with modern tooling and open-source technologies.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience building and operating production GCP environments.
• Deep Kubernetes and GKE expertise.
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation.
• Security-conscious approach with experience delivering resilient cloud platforms.
• Experience working within secure or highly regulated environments.
• Defence, Government or other high-assurance environments.
• Air-gapped or restricted network deployments.
• CKA or CKAD certification.

SC Cleared / SC Eligible Senior GCP Cloud Engineer

£90,000-£95,000 | Permanent | Fully Remote | Occasional UK Travel

We’re looking for an experienced Senior GCP Cloud Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering secure, cloud-native platforms within a highly regulated environment.

This is a genuine opportunity to take ownership of a greenfield platform, working across Google Cloud, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code to build secure, scalable infrastructure from the ground up.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for designing, building and operating production cloud infrastructure, owning the platform that enables engineering teams to deliver at scale. Working across distributed Kubernetes environments, you’ll drive automation, observability, security and platform reliability.

Clearance

• Active SC Clearance preferred.
• Candidates eligible and willing to undergo SC Clearance will also be considered.
