Provides accounting services to a diversified portfolio of clients, including aircraft lessors, project finance, asset-backed securitizations, and special purpose vehicles (SPV) firms. Acts as a key liaison with clients, responsible for preparing management accounts, financial statements, coordinating audits, tax and compliance matters, and corporation tax.
Responsibilities
- Managing a diverse portfolio of clients to include; SPV, Aircraft, Project Finance, ABS.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring high levels of service delivery in line with service level agreements (SLA).
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, escalating issues as needed.
- Prepare annual financial statements and monthly/quarterly management accounts within strict deadlines and regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely completion of client deliverables, including tax filings, regulatory reporting, and ad-hoc requests.
- Address client queries promptly.
- Provide guidance to less experienced personnel.
- Collaborate with auditors, lawyers, and other transaction parties as required.
- Improve and implement processes to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the creation of business and functional requirement documents; test and implement new requirements.
- Coordinate secretarial filings to meet statutory deadlines.
- Manage general administration for client portfolios in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Participate in special projects, including assessing new legislation relevant to client SPVs.
- Contribute to client accounting service reviews and due diligence meetings.
- Adhere to risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls, escalating risk-related issues to management.
- Promote an inclusive environment and maintain internal control standards, addressing audit points and regulatory issues.
Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling at least 7 years, including 3 years of relevant work experience.
- ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Experience with GAAP and IFRS accounting standards essential.
- Proficient in IT, including Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and industry-specific software.
- Experience with financial controls.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to understand financial risk and critically appraise processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience coaching less experienced accounting staff.
