Job summary

HSBC Group in the United Kingdom seeks a senior operations leader to design, implement and manage efficient global processes for COO activities within the CIO service line. The role reports to the CAIO Tech Operations Director and oversees workforce planning, budgeting, vendor alignment, and program governance.

• Demonstrable experience in managing significant financial and resource plans, organizational transformation, and project portfolio management within Financial Services.
• Strong ability to work in a complex matrix environment and to align stakeholders across multiple functions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to simplify complex messages for senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain a rolling 3-year Service line workforce plan aligned to CAIO and Group strategies.
• Manage multi-year Service Line FRP (FTE and $) including budgeting and cost management.
• Oversee Vendor Management to align objectives with Tech/Business strategy delivery.
• Oversee Change Portfolio for the Service Line; define milestones and coordinate programs in Clarity.
• Coordinate CIO commitments across governance forums; prepare papers and manage actions.

Job description

You'll play a key role in ensuring our AI adoption remains firmly in focus - supporting our ambition to simplify the bank, scale safely at pace, remove friction, improve quality, and embed AI solutions that benefit colleagues and customers. Reporting to the CAIO Tech Operations Director, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of efficient global operational processes for all COO related activities for the CIO service line/s, including Workforce Management, Financial Management, Portfolio & Accountability, Governance, and 3rd Party management,

• Define and maintain a rolling 3-year Service line workforce plan in line with CAIO Financial Plan and aligned to the wider GCIO & Group workforce & location strategies
• Responsible for the management of the multi-year Service Line FRP (FTE and $) including effective budgeting, planning and cost management processes for total spend across Service Line
• Vendor Management - Ensure alignment of key parties to agree objectives and support the development of the Tech/Business strategy to deliver
• Responsible for the management and oversight of the Change Portfolio for their Service Line/s. Facilitate the definition of key milestones for all programmes and co-ordinate the setup of these programmes within Clarity
• Manage Service Line CIO's commitments across governance forums, writing papers, proactive management of actions
  Demonstrable experience in managing significant financial and resource plans, organizational transformation, and project portfolio management within Financial Services
• Experience of managing within a complex matrix environment
• Deep financial and commercial awareness
• Strong verbal and written communication skills - able to translate complex situations into a simple digestible message and able to tailor message according to the target audience. Able to create impactful presentations and updates for a senior audience
• Track record of with creating and leading a high-performance global team
• Proven experience supporting focused AI adoption aligned to strategic priorities
