Job summary

Pearson in the United Kingdom seeks a GCE History (New Specification) Moderator to review centre assessments against agreed criteria and Pearson procedures. Moderation will involve sampling of candidates’ work.

Responsibilities include moderating coursework and projects, direct assessment where centres opt not to mark, and submitting centre reports to the Team Leader or Principal Moderator as required.

Qualifications

• One academic year's teaching experience within the last 8 years.
• Degree or equivalent.
• Must be a qualified teacher.

Responsibilities

• Moderate parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects and special studies, which are marked initially by teachers and then sampled.
• Undertake direct assessment of school-based components when centres opt not to mark initially.
• Complete and submit centre reports to the Team Leader or Principal Moderator as required.
