Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (GAVO) is the largest County Voluntary Council (CVC) in Wales. In partnership with Newport City Council (NCC), GAVO manages a food resilience project funded initially by NCC to establish the Food Network and collaborate with various organizations supporting the community. Further investment from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, part of the UK Government's Levelling Up agenda, will continue to fund food sustainability and resilience activities working towards a Food Strategy for Newport's communities.
The postholder will work with the Food Project Manager to engage with and build capacity and resilience among grassroots groups, maintaining and expanding the existing network, and improving access and affordability of good food across Newport. The role involves working closely with a dedicated GAVO Newport team making a tangible difference locally.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in partnership and collaboration with diverse organizations and groups. Facilitation, network support, survey, and consultation experience are essential.
