Job summary

Alecto Recruitment is seeking a Senior Technical Support Engineer in Basingstoke to join a gate automation and access control specialist. You will provide telephone and email support, diagnose faults, advise on product selection, and train customers and internal teams.

The role is office-based with training provided and potential progression into a senior leadership path. Applicants should have experience in technical environments, strong fault finding, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical, electrical, mechanical or electro-mechanical environments.
• Strong fault finding and problem solving skills.
• Comfortable providing technical advice over the phone and by email.
• Experience with gate automation, barriers, access control or similar systems would be beneficial.
• Able to train others and guide less experienced engineers.

Senior Technical Support Engineer - Basingstoke

I'm currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Support Engineer to join a well established business within the gate automation and access control sector.This is an office based role in Basingstoke, supporting customers and engineers across a range of automated gate, barrier and access control products.

The Role

• Provide telephone and email based technical support to customers and engineers
• Assist with fault diagnosis, installation and programming queries
• Advise customers on product selection and suitable equipment
• Identify spare parts and provide technical guidance
• Support the first line technical support team and provide day to day guidance where required
• Assist the sales team with technical specifications and customer requirements
• Deliver technical product training to internal teams and external customers
• Develop training materials including presentations, videos and webinars
• Occasionally attend customer visits and provide technical support to key accounts
• Support the introduction and appraisal of new products

About You

• Previous experience within a technical, electrical, mechanical or electro mechanical environment
• Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
• Comfortable providing technical advice over the phone and by email
• Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
• Experience with gate automation, barriers, access control, automatic doors or similar systems would be beneficial
• Experience in a technical support, service engineering or senior engineering position would be advantageous
• Able to work as part of a technical team and provide guidance to less experienced engineers

Direct experience with the manufacturer's products isn't essential as full training will be provided.

Package

• Salary: Up to £45,000 basic
