Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Gateman/Traffic Marshal for a 1-month contract in Widnes. You will manage gate access, sign in/out personnel, and direct vehicles while ensuring safety and fire register accuracy. CIS registration is essential and a CSCS card is required.

Hours are 07:30–16:30, Monday to Friday, on-site role with a CIS rate of £19.00 per hour. Prior construction site experience and a valid ticket boost your application.

Qualifications

• Valid CSCS Card (Essential).
• Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman ticket (Highly preferred).
• Previous experience as Gateman/Traffic Marshal on construction sites.
• Registered for CIS (Construction Industry Scheme).
• Full PPE: hard hat, hi-vis, steel-toe boots, gloves and glasses.

Responsibilities

• Manage the site gate and control access for vehicles, operatives and visitors.
• Sign personnel in and out to ensure accurate fire registers.
• Direct plant and delivery vehicles safely in and out of the entrance.
• Keep the site entrance clear, safe and secure at all times.

About the Role:

We are currently looking for a reliable and vigilant Gateman to manage site access for a construction project in Widnes. This is a 1-month contract starting on Thursday the 29th, offering a competitive CIS rate and consistent Monday-to-Friday hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the site gate and controlling access for all vehicles, operatives, and visitors.
• Signing personnel in and out of the site to ensure accurate fire registers.
• Directing plant and delivery vehicles safely in and out of the site entrance.
• Ensuring the site entrance remains clear, safe, and secure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with site management and delivery drivers.

Requirements:

• Valid CSCS Card (Essential).
• Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman ticket (Highly preferred).
• Previous experience working as a Gateman or Traffic Marshal on a construction site.
• Registered for CIS (Construction Industry Scheme).
• Full 5-point PPE (Hard hat, high-vis, steel toe cap boots, gloves, and glasses).
• Excellent communication skills and a reliable work ethic.
