Job summary

Skilled Careers is recruiting reliable Gatemen for construction sites across Canterbury. Immediate opportunities are available for suitable candidates. You will manage site access, verify IDs and permits, and ensure only authorised visitors enter the site.

Ideal candidates are organised, punctual, and able to communicate clearly with contractors and visitors. Weekly wages and overtime opportunities are available for ongoing assignments in Canterbury.

Qualifications

• Previous Gateman, site access control or similar experience preferred.
• CSCS card preferred, subject to site requirements.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Controlling site access and monitoring vehicles and personnel entering and leaving.
• Checking visitor identification, signing people in and out, and verifying permits where required.
• Ensuring only authorised personnel enter the site.
• Recording deliveries and notifying the relevant site teams of arrivals.
• Communicating professionally with contractors, drivers, visitors and site management.
• Helping maintain site security and keeping access points organised.
• Following site health and safety, access control and emergency procedures.
• Reporting suspicious activity, incidents, hazards or security concerns promptly.

THE ROLE - WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
