Job summary

South Western Railway (SWR) is seeking a Gateline Assistant to join the station team, delivering a safe, welcoming experience for all customers. You will oversee the Ticket Gates to ensure travellers hold the correct ticket and help them navigate the station.

This role is shift-based, averaging 37 hours per week across 5 days with early, late and weekend shifts. You will be the first port of call for information and assistance, providing quick, clear help to keep journeys on track.

Qualifications

• Experience in helping customers at busy stations.
• Able to communicate clearly and assist with tickets and directions.
• Comfortable with repetitive tasks and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for customers seeking information or help with tickets.
• Oversee the operation of ticket gates and manage flow during busy periods.
• Direct customers and provide information during disruptions to keep journeys on track.
