Job summary

Culina is seeking a Gatehouse Operative at the Telford site for a full-time, permanent role. The role involves access control, visitor management, and administration to safeguard people and assets while ensuring smooth site operations.

Shifts are 4 on 4 off, typically 6am–6pm, with a structured onboarding and health & safety focus, plus a package including annual leave and company benefits as part of our supportive logistics team.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and booking in/out visitors, guests and contractors with safety briefings and passes.
• Electronically recording all vehicles in the main secure yard and directing movement.
• Carrying out essential administrative checks in line with procedures and deadlines.
• Understand and follow fire procedures and actions in event of alarm.
• Liaise between emergency services and external agencies when incidents occur.
• Act as a visible deterrent against potential criminal activity.
• Report incidents through the chain of command; conduct safety conversations.
• Brief drivers on behaviour and standards on site; gatehouse monitoring.
• Conduct vehicle and load checks; liaise with other departments on discrepancies.
• Monitor trailer temperatures; register/log vehicles leaving site.
• Check loading manifests for changes; make load amendments in the system.
• Generate driver paperwork; perform trailer audits.
