Job summary

Lemesosestates is seeking a multi-skilled Gate & Barrier Engineer to service and install automated gates, barriers, bollards and related systems across the South East Midlands, London, and surrounding counties.

You will work on high-profile commercial and government-linked sites, handling electrical, hydraulic, and PLC systems with opportunities for progression within 12 months. A driving licence and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical background preferred; a formal apprenticeship is a plus, but strong hands-on experience will also be considered.
• Proven experience as a Gate & Barrier Engineer or similar role.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with hydraulics, PLCs, and control circuitry.
• Computer literacy and a full UK driving licence.
• Able to obtain SC security clearance.
• Willing to join call-out rota.

• Installation, servicing, and maintenance of automated gates, barriers, bollards, road blockers, and turnstiles.

Gate & Barrier Engineer (South East Midlands – Northampton to London)

Location: Based anywhere between Northampton & London, covering the South East Midlands, London, and surrounding counties
Salary: £36,400 basic | £17.50 per hour | OTE £45,000–£65,000
Hours: 40 hours per week | Paid door-to-door

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK specialist in automated gate and barrier systems, due to continued growth within their engineering division.

This position suits a multi-skilled Gate & Barrier Engineer who enjoys working on technically complex, security-critical systems and wants clear progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, servicing, and maintenance of automated gates, barriers, bollards, road blockers, and turnstiles
• Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault-finding
• Working on high-profile commercial and government-linked sites
• UK-wide travel as required
• Participation in a call-out rota after 3 months.

Candidate Requirements

  • 1 week in 5–6
  • £100 per week on call
  • £50 per call-out
• Realistic OTE £45,000–£65,000
