DMC Healthcare is seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at Grantham Hospital in Lincolnshire on a contractor basis, working weekends (according to your schedule).

The role:

As a Gastroenterologist, you will provide medical care to patients with digestive system disorders, including evaluating patients, requesting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and developing treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently for the continuing care of patients alongside consultant staff.
  • Caring for patients with Gastrointestinal complaints independently.
  • Participate in audit and governance, supporting other staff caring for patients.
  • Carry out administrative duties supporting clinical commitments.
  • Participate in the GI MDT if needed.
  • Develop enhanced clinical skills, especially in assessing and managing acutely ill patients.
  • Work well in a multi-professional team with excellent team-working skills.
  • Deliver clinical and quality targets both nationally and locally.
  • Follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Full GMC registration and on the specialist register.
  • At least 1 year as a consultant gastroenterologist.
  • JAG accredited with exceeded NED minimum KPIs.
  • High standard of clinical practice with diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopy skills.
  • Provide leadership to your team.
  • Understand safeguarding regulations and escalate concerns appropriately.
