This role will be within our Metering team, where you’ll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, providing efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.

What will you be doing?

As an engineer, you will be part of our Metering team that provides services such as Smart installations, investigating non-communicating smart meters, and emergency and maintenance appointments on behalf of clients like EON, OVO, EDF. You will receive continuous training to develop your skills. Did you know? 87% of our field management team have been promoted internally.

Health and safety are at the core of our operations! You will be provided with extra training to ensure your knowledge is up-to-date and to enhance your industry skills. Your onboarding will prepare you to be an ambassador for health and safety.

Customer service is our priority.

You will ensure all jobs are completed on time, and customers are given detailed explanations of the benefits and safe usage of their new meters. You will also respond to emergencies, restoring power or gas when needed.

What you’ll bring
  • Valid UK driving licence (held for at least 1 year, with less than 6 points)
  • CCN1 / CMA1 qualification, or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel
  • Gas Safe registration for at least 6 months
What’s in it for you?

If you currently work in the Gas industry and want to transition into smart metering, we offer a fantastic 11-week training program to learn smart meter installation.

Post-training, you will be responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and removal of smart meters (SMETS2) in homes, responding to maintenance or emergency calls. We also provide additional training to obtain your Gas metering qualification, MET1.

During the 11-week training, you will earn a salary of £26,924 per year, which increases to approximately £38,000-£41,000 upon qualification, depending on your location.
