A reputable organization is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Service / Breakdown Engineer to support gas servicing and breakdown operations across commercial and domestic properties. The role requires flexibility to attend various sites and a commitment to delivering high-quality service while ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have proven experience, ACS certifications, and a full clean UK driving licence. Qualifications

  • Proven experience in commercial gas servicing, maintenance, and fault finding.
  • Hands-on knowledge of heating systems and appliances.
  • Competent using test equipment, including electrical multi-meters.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on-site.
  • Flexible approach to travel and working hours (including overtime when required).
  • Willing to be part of the on-call rota.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive, professional attitude with a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain gas appliances across commercial and domestic environments.
  • Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on various heating systems.
  • Conduct boiler and system breakdown inspections and safety checks.
  • Install commercial boilers and associated plant systems.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance and breakdown call-outs.
  • Ensure all works comply with current gas and health & safety regulations.
  • Provide high first-time-fix rates and maintain excellent customer care.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Maintain company property (tools, vehicle, PPE, etc.) in good working order.
  • Actively identify and report opportunities for additional work.

Ivy Resource Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Service / Breakdown Engineer to support a range of gas servicing and breakdown operations across both commercial and domestic properties. This is a mobile position, requiring flexibility to attend sites across the West Midlands mainly in Birmingham and Coventry also Leamington Spa, Hereford and Northampton ensuring a high-quality and safe service.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Service and maintain gas appliances across commercial and domestic environments




  • Perform fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on various heating systems




  • Conduct boiler and system breakdown inspections and safety checks




  • Install commercial boilers and associated plant systems




  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance and breakdown call-outs




  • Ensure all works comply with current gas and health & safety regulations




  • Provide high first-time-fix rates and maintain excellent customer care




  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly




  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams

    • Attended call-outs paid at £40 for the first hour, then time and a half thereafter






  • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays




  • One additional paid day off during your birthday month




  • Sick pay in line with statutory sick pay (SSP) regulations




  • Performance review following probation
