Job summary

Network Plus group is seeking a Gas Operative (NCO1 Support Engineer) in Kettering to join a team supporting Cadent. You will attend gas escapes, perform repairs, and promote safe working practices while maintaining efficiency and compliance. A full valid driver’s licence is required, and fitness to work in shifts, including weekends, is essential.

Qualifications

• Trainees welcome and will be placed through a training program.
• SHEA Gas qualification or equivalent preferred.
• NCO1 Assistant qualification.
• NRSWA 1,2 & 3 Operative qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Team Leader.
• Attending gas leaks.
• Groundwork and excavations.
• Excavations and reinstatements.
• Signing, lighting, and guarding duties.
• Ensuring cable avoidance.
• Delivering equipment and tools as required.
• Patrol and plant protection.
• Work in deep excavations up to 2.5 m.
• Standby rota system support.

Description

The Gas Operative [NCO1 Support Engineer] will Work as part of a team and assist the Team Leader, you will be responsible for attending gas escapes and conducting appropriate repairs. You will need to have exceptional customer service skills, be extremely enthusiastic and can promote safe working practice, whilst driving efficiency and maintaining compliant ways of working.

You MUST have a full valid driver’s licence and be able to be clean shaven every day for health and safety reasons.

You will be required to work on a shift pattern rota [averaging 40 hours per week] which will include weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Assisting the Team Leader


• Attending gas leaks


• Groundwork


• Excavations and reinstatements


• Utilising appropriate signing, lighting, and guarding


• Ensuring cable avoidance


• Delivering equipment and tools where required


• Patrol and plant protection.


• Working on & in deep excavations up to 2.5m


• Working on a standby rota system

Experience and Qualifications

We are looking for both Trainees [to be placed through a training program] and those who already have the below qualifications.
