Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Gas Heating Engineer to join the Mechanical and Electrical team within Housing Services. This permanent role requires 37 hours per week and a full UK driving licence, with duties spanning installations, servicing, testing and compliant boiler re-commissioning.

The base office is Harvey Road, NG8 3BB, and the salary ranges from £42,123 to £45,529 per year, depending on level and experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in all aspects of heating.
• Ability to undertake installations, servicing, testing and compliance certification, including cap/disk supply and boiler re-commissioning.
• Proven experience with central heating systems, boilers, controls and radiators.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels.
• Ability to collaborate with contractors and suppliers to achieve goals.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage a diverse workload under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installations, servicing, testing and compliance certification.
• Cap/disk gas supply, remove gas fires, and re-commission boilers after void periods.
• Ensure legionella standards are adhered to.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
