Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an experienced Gas Engineer to support Hackney Housing in delivering high-quality servicing, repairs, maintenance, and installation work across residential properties within the borough. Immediate start on an ongoing temporary contract, with full-time hours and company vehicle provided.

You will perform gas heating and hot water system work, annual safety inspections, fault diagnosis, and safety certs.

Qualifications

• Valid ACS Gas Qualifications.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Proven experience servicing, repairing, and installing domestic gas appliances and heating systems.
• Strong understanding of current Gas Safety Regulations.
• Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
• Experience in social housing, local authority, or responsive repairs environments is desirable.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, maintain, and install domestic gas heating and hot water systems.
• Carry out annual gas safety inspections and servicing programmes.
• Diagnose faults and repair boilers, radiators, pumps, valves, heating controls, and associated pipework.
• Complete gas safety certificates and all required compliance documentation.
• Undertake minor multi-skilled works including basic plumbing, electrical, and making-good repairs.
• Deliver excellent customer service while working within occupied and void properties.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current Gas Safety Regulations.
• Accurately record work completed and maintain up-to-date job records.

We are recruiting an experienced Gas Engineer to support Hackney Housing in delivering high-quality servicing, repairs, maintenance, and installation work across residential properties throughout the borough. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy Housing Repairs team providing both planned and reactive maintenance services. Based on the requirements outlined below

Key Responsibilities

• Service, repair, maintain, and install domestic gas heating and hot water systems.
• Carry out annual gas safety inspections and servicing programmes.
• Diagnose faults and repair boilers, radiators, pumps, valves, heating controls, and associated pipework.
