Job summary

Mears Group in Birmingham is seeking skilled Gas Engineers to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will deliver gas servicing, repairs and installations across domestic housing stock, ensuring safety, compliance and high-quality workmanship.

The role includes boiler diagnostics, servicing and CP12 certificates, with opportunities for overtime and an optional out-of-hours call rota. You will work independently and as part of a wider contract team, maintaining strong customer service

Qualifications

• Qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance.
• Hold valid ACS certification (e.g. CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1).
• Experience in domestic boiler servicing, fault diagnosis and installation.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and installations of domestic gas appliances including boilers, cookers and fires.
• Diagnose faults and complete remedial works safely and efficiently.
• Perform landlord gas safety inspections and issue CP12 certificates.
• Ensure compliance with gas regulations and internal procedures.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and urgent repairs as required.
• Record all work using handheld devices or job management systems.
• Maintain van stock levels and order materials as needed.
• Collaborate with tenants, housing officers and internal teams.
